Bowls Auckland Club Investment Fund Opens
22 October 2025

At the heart of bowls in Auckland are our clubs — the lifeblood of the game! That belief sits at the core of Bowls Auckland’s strategic intent: to support clubs to be the heart of their communities.

While those words set a clear direction, the real challenge lies in turning them into action and creating tangible initiatives that bring them to life. With that in mind, Bowls Auckland is proud to announce the launch of the Bowls Auckland Club Investment Fund, a major step toward building a stronger, more sustainable future for the sport.

The Fund will be seeded with part of the remaining balance of the Rawhiti Fund and will be managed and replenished annually by Bowls Auckland, ensuring it becomes a permanent and self-sustaining source of support for clubs.

In today’s environment, where traditional funding from sponsorships and gaming trusts is increasingly hard to access, the Club Investment Fund provides a direct and reliable way to back clubs working to enhance facilities, build capability, and grow participation.

Bowls Auckland CEO Dean Bartlett said the initiative marks a milestone moment for the sport: “To be able to set up a club investment fund that is self-sustainable and infinite is sector-leading and will leave a legacy beyond all our years.”

The Fund is closely linked to the newly formed Bowls Auckland Foundation, meaning donations made through the Foundation will directly contribute to the Fund and deliver tangible benefits to clubs across the region.

Bowls Auckland looks forward to working alongside clubs to ensure every dollar invested helps secure the long-term future of bowls in Auckland.
