Bowls Auckland is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Coaches Committee — a vital group dedicated to fostering a thriving coaching network and delivering 1–5 coaching programmes across our region.
About the Committee
Established under Bowls Auckland, the Coaches Committee oversees the 1–5 Winter Coaching Programme, including tournaments such as the Canoe, Campi, and ABCA Cup. The committee also supports Bowls Auckland’s broader Coaching Strategy by:
- Organising monthly networking opportunities for coaches
- Developing resources and best practices for club-level coaching
- Ensuring clubs have qualified coaches and effective programmes
Comprising five Zone Convenors and two representatives from Bowls Auckland, the committee meets bi-monthly and operates with a dedicated budget to deliver its objectives.

Who should apply?
We are seeking passionate and experienced coaches who meet the following criteria:
- Hold a current BNZ Development Coach qualification (or higher)
- Are active club coaches with at least three years of experience
- Are involved in, or committed to supporting and delivering, the Winter Coaching Programme
- Represent one of Auckland’s five zones: Central, East, South-East, South-West, or West
How to apply
- Prepare a cover letter outlining your coaching experience, suitability for the role, and vision for contributing to the committee
- Secure a club endorsement from your Club President or executive representative

Key dates
- Application deadline: Sunday, 15 May 2025.
- Committee term: Successful applicants will begin their roles shortly after selection, with the next bi-monthly schedule for the first Wednesday, 4 June 2025.
