Why Mike Faircloth Chose Molecheck

– And Why He’s Glad He Did

Spending long days out on the bowling greens comes with plenty of rewards, but for many bowlers, it also means years of sun exposure. For Auckland bowler Mike Faircloth, that reality became impossible to ignore.

After recently losing a close friend to aggressive skin cancer, and with fair skin that burns easily, Mike knew it was time to take action. A conversation with a fellow bowler currently undergoing treatment for skin cancer was the final prompt he needed.

Knowing Bowls Auckland has a partnership with Molecheck, including a member discount, Mike booked a full body mole check at the Epsom Clinic on Manukau Road.

From the moment he arrived, Mike says the experience was seamless and reassuring. The clinic’s specialists, nurses and administrative staff guided him through the entire process in a professional, courteous and respectful way, clearly explaining each step along the journey.

During the appointment, a small biopsy was taken and sent away for diagnosis. Thankfully, the result came back negative, and Mike was provided with treatment to support healing at the biopsy site.

While there was a cost involved, reduced through the Bowls Auckland member offer, Mike sees it as an investment rather than an expense.

“When you consider the consequences of ignoring potential skin cancer, the cost becomes an investment in your wellbeing and physical health,” he says.

Now, Mike is encouraging fellow bowlers to look after themselves, revisit the classic Slip, Slop, Slap message, and consider regular skin checks as part of their health routine.

Bowls Auckland members can enjoy 23% off a full mole check.
