Term 1 events

Bowls Auckland and Bowls NZ have some awesome bowling opportunities coming up in March and we are excited to get as many students playing as possible.

Bowls is a fantastic sport that has the unique advantage of being fun and accessible to everyone regardless of athletic ability – it suits all students! And… bowling clubs are friendly places that love to welcome and develop new players.  

Here are the Term 1 tournaments:

Tuesday 7 March 2023

  • Event: Auckland Secondary School Pairs (up to 18 years)
  • Format: This a mixed event, where males and females all play in the same competition 
  • Time: 9.00am – 3.00pm
  • Where: Mt Eden Bowling Club, Auckland
  • Entries: Schools will need to submit entries via Auckland of College Sport

Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 March 2023

  • Event: National Rangatahi Bowls Under 21 Singles Championships 2023
  • Format: This is a Singles tournament for those aged 21 and younger. It is a mixed event, where males and females all play in the same competition 
  • Time: 8.30am – 4.30pm
  • Where: Hobsonville Bowling Club, Auckland

Monday 27 & Tuesday 28 March 2023

  • Event: National Secondary School Bowls3Five Championship 2023
  • Format: This is a Triples tournament for Secondary School students (11 years and up). Students in a team must attend the same school unless they are given a special dispensation by Bowls NZ. It is a mixed event, where males and females all play in the same competition 
  • What: This is a triples tournament played in a Bowls3Five format
  • Time: 8.30am – 2.30pm
  • Where: Hobsonville Bowling Club, Auckland

COACHING OPPORTUNITIES

Bowling clubs are friendly places and love to welcome and develop new players.  If your school is interested in entering the above tournaments or you want to explore further bowling opportunities, please let Bowls Auckland know and we will put you in touch with a suitable local club.
