Engaging Auckland's youth with Rangatahi Roll Up

Bowls Auckland has set an ambitious goal of involving 5,000 Auckland students in bowls.

Rangatahi Roll Up has been embraced by several schools, including Auckland Girls Grammar, Selwyn College, Ōtāhuhu College, Mt Albert Grammar, and Rutherford College. Designed to introduce bowls in a lively and sociable setting, the programme offers flexibility, accommodating sessions during school hours, lunch breaks, or after school.

A standout feature of the programme is its inclusive and accessible nature, ensuring that students of all backgrounds and skill levels can fully take part. By dismantling stereotypes and barriers associated with bowls, we’re igniting a newfound interest among students, who are discovering the sport for the first time.

Leah Chan, Club Partner – Engagement, expresses her excitement over the overwhelmingly positive response, “Over 1,200 students have already reaped the benefits of the Rangatahi Roll Up programme. We’re only halfway through Term 1, and the momentum continues to build with promising prospects for the rest of this term and Term 4.”
