Rangatahi Hub

Rangatahi hub – your getaway to a world of exciting opportunities for secondary school students. We are dedicated to introducing the wonderful sport of Bowls to the next generation, and we have a range of engaging programmes to get everyone involved.

Engagement

Bowls Auckland is proud to offer free fun and exciting sports sessions to secondary schools during Terms 4 and 1 for Years 7-13 students for one to four sessions. The aims of these sessions include:

  • An emphasis on fun – we know that rangatahi need positive experiences participating in sports if they are to pursue future physical activities.
  • Development of fundamental movement skills – bowls contain several fundamental movement skills which are highlighted by Sport NZ as being an essential foundation for enjoyable participation in physical activity throughout life
  • Development of positive social skills – working in groups and teams will inadvertently develop young people’s social skills
  • Gaining a basic knowledge of bowls

Bowls Auckland will send an activator to your school to deliver our free fun and exciting sports session which can be from one to four sessions, to suit your school. Rangatahi that take part will learn the key elements of bowls.

Scheduling

Our fun and exciting sports sessions are delivered in Terms 1 and 4 to classes during school time, lunchtime and after school. Sessions can be scheduled for 30-45 minutes long. If a school wants to expose multiple classes to our sessions, our activator can take 5-6 sessions over one full day.

We are flexible and open to working out a schedule that works best for your school. We try to be as accommodating as possible with any requests.

If interested in having us deliver these fun and exciting sports sessions at your school please contact Leah Chan at Bowls Auckland, or complete the booking form and return it via email.
