2026-2027 Representative Coaches Confirmed

Bowls Auckland is delighted to confirm the coaching appointments for its 1 to 5 Year and Under 26 representative programmes for the 2026-2027 season, continuing its commitment to developing the region’s next generation of representative bowlers.

Following the recent announcement of the Premier and Development coaching teams, attention now turns to the emerging talent pathways, where a strong mix of experienced mentors and new coaching appointments will guide Auckland’s future stars.

The 1 to 5 Year programme continues to build on the momentum created last season, with additional coaching support strengthening the development environment for players in their early representative journey.

The women’s programme will once again be led by Head Coach Robyn Reihana, with Fiona Matheson joining the coaching team as Assistant Coach. On the men’s side, Brendon Walton remains Head Coach, supported by returning Assistant Coach Les Smith and new appointment Shaun Goldsbury, adding further experience and expertise to the programme.

The Under 26 programme also continues to grow as more rangatahi embrace the sport. The season will feature the National 5-a-Side tournament in Wellington this August, while the programme’s broader focus remains on creating more playing and development opportunities for Auckland’s emerging young talent.

Leading the Under 26 squad will be Head Coach Kevin Beasley, alongside Assistant Coach Les Eagleton, who will work together to identify, challenge and develop the next wave of representative players.

All representative coaching programmes will operate under the guidance of Performance Lead Paul MacKinnon, ensuring a consistent approach across Bowls Auckland’s performance pathway.

Bowls Auckland extends its sincere thanks to all coaches for their ongoing commitment to developing our players and strengthening representative bowls across the region.
