Bowls Auckland is excited to announce the team selected to represent the region at the upcoming Under 26 5-a-Side Tournament, hosted by Bowls Wellington from 22–24 August. This annual event brings together some of the country’s most promising young talent, and we’re proud to be sending a committed group to fly the Auckland flag.
The competition spans two and a half days and features a dynamic format — beginning with fours and singles, before shifting into triples and pairs. It’s a true test of versatility, teamwork, and individual skill.
Selected players
- Adam Blucher – Te Atatū
- Hannah Dawson – Howick
- Liam Hill – Auckland Bowling Club
- Ryan Hill – Mt Albert
- David Motu – Auckland Bowling Club
Unfortunately, Eva Bell and Henrietta Scott were unavailable for selection due to National Champ of Champs and university commitments.
These athletes have demonstrated outstanding form, consistency, and a commitment to growth—and we’re confident they’ll represent Auckland with pride and purpose.
Team Management
- Head Coach / Selector – Brendon Walton
- Assistant Coach / Selector – Lisa Prideaux
Head Coach Brendon Walton shared:
“As someone who started bowls at 15 and was fortunate to learn from outstanding coaches and benefit from incredible opportunities, I truly understand how vital events like these are in a player’s development.
Alongside Lisa — whose experience spans all levels of the game, including the very top — we’re excited to support this next generation of young guns. It’s all about continuing that cycle of inspiration — for them, and for those coming up behind them.”
We look forward to seeing this group in action as they take on the country’s best. Best of luck to the team!
