The UK is calling – PBA Auckland
Looking for your next winter challenge? The 2026 PBA Auckland events are open, and this year the pathway is more accessible than ever.
The PBA has long been one of the most competitive winter events on the calendar, attracting players who enjoy sharp match play, pressure moments, and the chance to test themselves outside the traditional centre season. Whether you are chasing a chance to represent New Zealand in the UK finals, looking for high-quality off-season competition, or simply want to keep your bowls brain switched on through winter, this is your opportunity.
This year, things look a little different.
A PBA Membership is no longer required, with each event now operating as pay-to-play.
Entry is $50 per event, and all entries are completed through Bowlshub.
Winners will receive prize money, with the prize pool based on entry numbers, to support travel to the national finals, which, conveniently for us, are being held right here in Auckland.
How Does It Work?
PBA runs a compact series Four regional qualifiers for the National Finals in Auckland, Sept 11-13, 2026, which progress onto the world finals hosted in the UK.
Ranking points are awarded based on your finishing position in each event. The more entries, the more rounds you play — and the more points you can earn.
- Current season points earn a x5 multiplier
- Last season’s points count with a x4 multiplier
Consistent performance across both seasons is key to breaking into the top ranks.
New to PBA?
No worries — there’s a Rookie Award for first-season players, plus prizes for:
- Top ranked female
- Top ranked U25
What Are the Events?
All events are straight knockout and set play format:
- Two sets of 9 ends
- Three-end tiebreak if required
