Taylor Bowls is back in 2026, partnering to deliver our largest-participated event on the calendar. The Interclub 8s and 6s return this October, and this season there is an exciting new opportunity for clubs to bring even more people into the game.
Played across Saturday 17 October and Saturday 31 October, the Interclub programme offers something for both the established competitor and, for the first time, those who might be ready to take their first step into organised bowls.
The big change for 2026 is that, for Interclub 6s, members of any membership type are eligible to play. That means social members, casual bowlers and newer club members can all be part of the action; all they need is a club shirt and some bowls!
Who is the next club champion?
Maybe it is the social member who turns up every week, the mate who has started coming down for roll-ups, the younger player who enjoys the game but has never entered a Centre event or someone who simply needs a little extra encouragement.
The 6s has been strategically realigned as an accessible introduction to Interclub, while still being an accessible option for those who prefer a half day of bowls. Teams consist of six players playing two triples, with just two games per day from 12.30 pm. The smaller time commitment still gives players the chance to pull on the club colours, represent their club and experience organised competition.
And for those wanting a full-day experience
The Interclub 8s remain one of the early-season highlights, with Men’s, Women’s and Any Combination grades. Each side consists of eight players competing in fours and pairs, with three games per day from 9.00 am.
Men’s and Women’s divisions will be graded based on last season’s standings and confirmed once entries close. Whether your club is chasing promotion, defending a division, rebuilding a side or growing full playing membership, this early-season interclub provides the perfect opportunity to kickstart the club spirit for the season ahead.
Entries are open now, so be sure to get in touch with your club captain/selector to put your interest forward in representing your club, encourage all your clubmates to do the same, and for the 6s in particular, think beyond the players who already enter everything.
