
Campi 2026: South-East claims the title
South East has claimed the 2026 Campi title once again, with Hannah Dawson, Dana Taylor, Janine Hickmore and Jo McCarthy (sub) producing the weekend’s standout performance to take out the Championship. They were pushed all the way by East’s Katy Merrett, Donna Davison and Zarah Davidson, who finished as Championship runners-up after an impressive campaign.
West featured prominently across the post-section results. Sacha Collins, Beverley Munro and Margaret Rae secured the Plate, while Kara-Lucia Parkin, Michelle Harris and Heather Stewart won Flight 1, and Teresa Cowie, Jacqueline Howard and Melissa Stewart claimed Flight 2. Addah Nyawo, Melanie Swami and Debbie Alker were Flight 2 runners-up, while Louise Stewart, Kay Hewitt and Daphne Davies of North Harbour finished runners-up in Flight 1.
South’s Emmalee Tomai, Amanda Allen and Christian-Ly Filipo were Plate runners-up. Counties Manukau also had a strong finish, winning both top prizes in the consolation, with Rhonda McIntyre, Ingrid Jagersma and Ngaio Coppins ahead of Lovey Davis, Annie Sawers and Edel Kelly.

Canoe 2026: South takes championship honours
South has taken out the 2026 Canoe Championship with Thomas Teinaki, Ed Tutai Jnr, Guy Harrison and Tika Noroto finishing the weekend as deserved champions in an historic victory, believed to be the first time South has claimed the title since Bryan Chapman represented Papatoetoe back in 1988 alongside Zivkovich, Monaghan and Schollum.
West’s Coogan, Jones, Te Tana and Vujcich were Championship runners-up, completing a quality campaign and ensuring a highly competitive finish to the event.
East claimed the Plate through Sam Brack, Crawford Blair, Simon Pomeroy and Bryn Jones, while South East’s Garratt, McCarthy, Deloughery and Martin finished runners-up. Central’s Peter McConnell, Kevin Bowdler, Alan Skeer and Wayne Wood won Flight 1, with West’s Bell, Bloomfield, Lawrence and Lawrence runners-up.
Southeast again featured in Flight 2, where defending champions Chris Hand, Wade Brealey, Graham Lewis and Edwin Taylor took the title. The consolation event was won by West’s R Hawthorne, D Collins, L Lau and J Lawn, with Counties Manukau’s M Willmer, D Smylie, W Moetu and D Foreman in close second.
