Bowls Auckland is rolling out a series of updates to Centre Events for the 2025 season, aimed at strengthening support for clubs, improving the bowler experience, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
What’s changing?
Increased green fees for clubs
Host clubs will now receive a higher green fee per day, helping offset rising operational costs and rewarding clubs for their support of Centre Events.
Boosted umpire support
Additional funding will be directed to grow and upskill our umpire network, enhancing matchday quality and speeding up result entry into Bowlshub
Return of third-place prizes
Third-place prize money is back! This applies to all Centre Events and 1-5 Year competitions.
Higher national pathway subsidies
Players and teams qualifying for national events outside Auckland (e.g., Interclub 7s, Champ of Champs) will now receive $250 per player, up from $200.
Entry fee adjustment
Entry fees for Centre and 1–5 Year events will rise from $25 to $30 per player. This is the first increase in five years and supports the enhancements outlined above.
Interclub prize money changes
Prize money will be removed from non-pathway Interclub events such as Winterclub, Interclub 8s, and Half Day Sixes. These funds will be redirected to initiatives that benefit more clubs and bowlers.
These changes reflect Bowls Auckland’s commitment to building a sustainable, enjoyable, and high-quality playing environment for everyone involved.
